History

PROUDLY CANADIAN SINCE 1952

Over 50 years ago, on May 15 1952, Leonard Simpson opened the first Town Shoes store in Toronto, Ontario at Sunnybrook Plaza (Bayview and Eglinton), Canada’ s first shopping centre. Just over one year later, Town opened its second store in Lawrence Plaza, Toronto.

From that very first day, Town Shoes’ success has been largely attributed to always having a clear direction and a strong focus on its objectives. Town Shoes was, is, and always will be fashion and quality at affordable prices.
